Teach them that this body is what carved out a good ego complex. Before there was ever an ego too complex.
Show them… that elegance doesn’t only exude in a feminine womb. Neither does being polite.
Teach them that when someone says “Thank you for holding the door.” That this is not a direct invitation for you to ask for more.
Teach them to also say no. To love their brothers, the same way they carry their families and their ancestors. This type of love doesn’t make you less of a man.
It makes you capable to live in understanding instead of living in command.
Show them that crying is accepted in this house. Acceptance is accepted in this house.
Teach your sons that period blood is no different than a war zone. No less than holy. No greater than an earthquake, tornado or a tsunami
Teach them that this bloodshed isn't a video game we as women can tune in and out of.
Teach them that love is the strongest thing you can allow yourself to surrender too.
Teach them to hold space.
Most of all teach them wholeness.
To soften their hands and to raise their chins.
It’s easy to teach a boy to be brave.
